Important. Emergency calling over VoIP has important differences from traditional landline emergency services. Please read this page carefully.
How emergency calling works
OttoCall routes emergency calls (911, 999, 112, 000, and country equivalents) to the appropriate public safety answering point based on the registered service address on your account or device.
What you must do
- Keep your service address current in your account settings.
- Confirm the correct address is set on every device that will place emergency calls.
- Understand that if your internet connection is down, emergency calling may not be available. Have an alternate means (mobile phone) available.
Country-specific rules
Some countries limit VoIP emergency calling. In such markets, we may disable emergency dialing or route calls to non-emergency lines. Contact support for details in your country.
